What is SociaLogic?
- SociaLogic is an experimental system devoted to research and development in social networking functions.
- SociaLogic helps you manage your many online social network memberships and identities, and your relationships to other people in your Social Graph.
- A SociaLogic account integrates all your disparate social media and social networking memberships under one identity and lets you see how you're connected to other people, regardless of which networks they might be members of.
- In the future, you'll be able to make this information available, always under your control of course, to any website that needs it.
- This will make it easier to find your "real life" friends on different networks and to find new friends that may have relationships to people you already know.
What's available now?
Currently, we're in development testing mode. We're still adding features and trying to find the right look and feel for the site.
- We have the following things built. You can,
- Create a unified social identity account and tie it to one or more OpenIDs
- Claim your Twitter account membership and add those relationships to your integrated identity. This includes both people you follow and people who follow you.
- Compare and synch up your Twitter follower and following lists.
- Claim your Flickr account membership and add those relationships to your integrated identity. At this time, Flickr only supports getting your contacts, but not who may consider you a contact.
- Claim your Seesmic account membership and add those relationships to your integrated identity.
- See an integrated list of everyone you know on Twitter and Flickr in one list, and do various analysis functions on your sets of contacts, regardless of which network you know them on. For instance, you can:
- For any contact that has claimed their integarated identity, see who you have in common,
- who you know that that they don't know
- who they know that you don't know
- And for any arbitrary person in the database, who you know in common with them and
- Who of your contacts considers them a contact.
- You're very welcome to give it a try and we'd love to hear what you think, good or bad.
Who is SociaLogic?
SociaLogic is currently two individuals, Joe Cascio and Hilary Mason, that are building this site in a personal effort to create something of value for our fellow social networkers on the Internet and to investigate interesting computational problems in interpersonal relationships in cyberspace.
- Joe Cascio is a career software engineer, most recently Chief Technology Officer at Heartlab, Inc. in Westerly, RI, (now Agfa Cardiovascular).
- Hilary Mason is Assistant Professor of Computer Science at Johnson and Wales University in Providence, RI.
We are financing SociaLogic ourselves for the moment, but would be interested in hearing from potential sponsors.
We are also looking for someone to help us with web graphic UI design and coding. We implement in Ruby on Rails and would like to hear from any web UI designers experienced in, or desiring to learn the coding side of Rails UI creation.
All inquiries should be directed to joec0914 [at] gmail [dot] com.
